The Pixies Announce Departure Of Kim Deal

Legendary alternative rock band The Pixies broke up in 1993 and the founding members didn’t have many kind things to say about each other after the nasty split. Time healed those wounds leading to a 2004 reunion that stuck until today. Bassist Kim Deal, who’s been extremely busy this year with The Breeders, has quit The Pixies according to a statement from the remaining members of the group.
Black Francis, Joey Santiago and David Lovering issued the following statement according to SPIN Magazine:
We are sad to say that Kim Deal has decided to leave the Pixies. We are very proud to have worked with her on and off over the last 25 years. Despite her decision to move on, we will always consider her a member of the Pixies, and her place will always be here for her. We wish her all the best.
